I loved this blog. It is refreshing to know people are changing the way they sell based on what the markets are asking for. I just created a new blog http://insidesalessaas.blogspot.com/ talking about inside sales and its evolution. I also created a hybrid model at my current company and it has had a major impact on sales over the last 4 years. We are a SAAS company and I saw the importance of the hybrid model early on. It took a lot of convincing, but has paid off. I'd really love to get some folks posting their ideas and general feedback to my blog, so please visit if you get the chance. I'm happy to discuss in detail exactly what worked for me and how I went going about setting up the department.

[I didn’t want my sales team spending any more than 20% of its time cold calling. It is too costly to use these resources for that purpose. Instead, Marketing generated leads for us by running email marketing and other campaigns.]

This is a good point, although cold calling does produce business, it's a far better use of a salesperson's time to be working warmer leads. If you can generate them with emails the combination is a very effective.
